With no prior art school training aside from high school, its kind of frustrating knowing which path to take towards a career in illustration. I know that what I want to do is draw comics on a professional level, and the best way to that career path is to just draw comics all the time. The problem for me is that I tend to trail off on other artistic tangents and I get distracted for what can be days, weeks, or even months at a time. Another thing that is a big problem is that I still cant find a way to get payed for art, and its hard to keep hope when all your income comes from part time jobs.

But I am completely aware its not supposed to be easy. I mean for Christ sake, I’m asking the universe to let me draw pictures for a living.

And so a website is born

Today I have launched my website, and now I’m writing my first blog. I’ve never actually followed a blog or payed attention to what a blog actually is, and I’m still considering renaming this part of the website the “sketch book” as I’ll mostly be showing off sketches I’ve done.

So what I hope to accomplish with this website is to reach out to a few more illustrators and people interested in illustration and build a network. As it stands I dont know any artists aside from myself personally, and I think it has a lot to do with me skipping art school.

Anyway I hope whomever is reading this will enjoy the cat, the new website, and plenty more of my art that will be posted in the future.

Take care.
